Of Mice & Men in Solothurn

Of Mice & Men mussten leider ihre Europatour abbrechen. Das heisst auch das Konzert am 19. Oktober in der Kulturfabrik Kofmehl wird nicht stattfinden. Sänger Austin Carlile musste aus medizinischen Gründen notfallmässig zurück in die USA fliegen. Die Band und wir werden alles versuchen, dieses Konzert so bald wie möglich nachzuholen. Da es aber zur Zeit unklar ist, wann das sein wird, können bereits gekaufte Tickets bei Starticket zurück gegeben werden. Die Band schreibt dazu:

«Dear European Fans,

It is with our sincerest apologies that we are forced to cancel the remaining dates on this current headline tour. We had to cut short our set in Portsmouth on Saturday night due to Austin being in pain throughout the show. We attempted to play the show in Cardiff the following night, but it became increasingly obvious that we were not able to continue and that we need to focus on Austin’s health. As much as we wish we could complete the remaining dates of this tour we know that we would be doing a disservice to all of our loyal fans, as well as ourselves, performing under the current circumstances.

The reality is that we feel the best thing to do right now is go home, get Austin the appropriate medical attention & regroup before we head back out on the road again. We appreciate that our fans understand how important it is that we put health first & foremost & know that we would never cancel shows unless we felt it absolutely necessary.

Refunds will be available at point of purchase for all cancelled shows.

Of Mice & Men gehören zu den ganz grossen Metalcore-Exporten aus den USA. Das Quintett aus Südkalifornien hat sich nach einem John Steinbeck-Roman benannt, die Band klingt jedoch im ersten Moment wenig schöngeistig. Hier wird nicht mit der Feder, sondern mit der Doppelaxt gekämpft.

Das Gespann um Shouter Austin Carlile prügelt sich durch alle Register des Metalcore: Riesige Riffs, brutale Breakdowns, gehässige Growls und monströse Melodien. Und sie tun das kompromisslos. Kein Wunder, wächst die Fanbase rund um den Erdball im Eilzugstempo an.

Anfang letzten Jahres veröffentlichten Of Mice & Men ihr drittes Album “Restoring Force”. Die Scheibe kletterte bis auf Platz 4 der US-Billboard Charts, knackte in Australien die Top 10 und wurde auch in unseren Gefilden zum bislang grössten Erfolg der Band. Mit "Restoring Force" haben die Kalifornier bereits im März 2015 die restlos ausverkaufte Kofmehlhalle zum Erbeben gebracht, jetzt kommen sie zurück!

Die ganz grosse Qualität der Guge sind Liveshows. Ob auf Arenatour mit Linkin Park, auf der VANS Warped Tour oder bei eigenen Headlinershows – Of Mice & Men spielen sich die Finger wund und tun das so gut, dass sie 2013 sogar einen Kerrang! Award als beste Liveband abgeräumt haben.

Am Mittwoch, 19. Oktober 2016 kommt das angesagte Quintett für eine exklusive Schweizer Show zurück in die Kulturfabrik Kofmehl Solothurn.
