Wild Beasts in Zürich

Das auffälligste an den Wild Beasts ist die Countertenor-Stimme des Sängers Hayden Thorpe. Das Quartett aus Kendal/UK gebärdet sich alles andere als wild, pflegt das Understatement und so versinkt die Platte gemäss dem Albumtitel "Smother" in unendlicher Schönheit irgendwo im Bermuda-Dreieck zwischen Antony & The Johnsons, Elbow und Talk Talk ("Colour of Spring"), elegant zwischen glamourösem Pop und tanzbarem Disco-Wave.

(Nicht nur) die heimatliche Presse ist über "Smother", das dritte, über Domino Records veröffentlichte Album der Band, schier aus dem Häuschen und es regnet hervorragende Rezensionen.

Der NME vergibt (ebenso wie Drowned in Sound oder das Clash Magazine) 9/10 Punkten und das sind weitere Stimmen:
